JUNE 11-15, 2017

TIME: 6-8pm

We would love for your child to come on an adventure with us at Vacation Bible School (VBS). This year’s theme is Good News Roundup: An Adventure in the Wild West & the Word. Together we’re going to discover that God has kept all of His promises through Jesus.

Below you can find some information we think will be helpful. We’ve tried to answer as many questions as possible, but if you think of a question that we haven’t answered yet, feel free to contact us using the form below or call us at the church office at 334.937.0080.

What will my child do at VBS?

At Good News Roundup we’re going to learn all about a God who keeps His promises through Jesus, all while having fun in the process. Each night your child will get to sing and dance, eat a tasty meal, make a fun craft, play some Western games, and hear a story from the Bible. As you can tell, each night will be jam-packed with fun and adventure!

How much does it cost?

The cost of participating in Good News Roundup is $0. Zilch. Zip. Nada. It’s totally free!

What will my child learn?

Psalm 78:4 says, We will tell to the coming generation the glorious deeds of the LORD, and his might, and the wonders that he has done.

So at Good News Roundup your child will learn first and foremost how great and wonderful God is. They will learn more about who He is and what He has done, most especially in sending His Son Jesus to save us from our sins.

Your child will also learn what God says about us, how we are all made in His image, how we all have sinned, and how we all need to receive the pardon He has offered us through Jesus.

Finally, we aim to teach children about God’s plan for telling this good news to all the peoples of the world, and how He calls us to be a part of that big plan of showing His love to all nations.

What ages can participate?

Children from Pre-K (3 yrs old) to 6th Grade will be welcome to adventure with us at Good News Roundup. Of course, your child will be grouped with other children in his or her age group, and each group will have its own dedicated, responsible leaders.

What's on the menu each night?

SUNDAY - Sandwiches (meat/cheese and PB&J)

MONDAY - Hamburgers

TUESDAY - Hot dogs

WEDNESDAY - Chicken fingers

Each night we will have chips, juice, lemonade, and a Western-themed dessert.

Will you receive an offering?

Yes, we will receive an offering at Good News Roundup, but we want you to know two important things:

  1. No one is under any obligation to give; it is entirely voluntary.
  2. We won’t keep any of the money that your child gives; we’re going to give it all away!

This year’s offering will go to Children’s Hope, a ministry that helps care for orphans and vulnerable children in Haiti. The first night of Good News Roundup we will send detailed information home with your child, but if you would like to learn more about Children’s Hope in the meantime you can visit their website by clicking here or their Facebook page by clicking here.

Where will I drop off & pick up my child?

For the safety of your child(ren), we’re asking parents to drop off and pick up your children in our sanctuary. If you need help finding it, there will be volunteers available to direct you.

Here you can pre-register your child(ren) for Good News Roundup. If you have questions about pre-registration, click here.

How much does it cost to pre-register?

Nothing, it is completely free!

Can I pre-register more than one child at once?

Yes, you will be asked how many children you would like to pre-register. You can select the appropriate number and pre-register up to six children under your name.

If I don't pre-register my child(ren), can they still attend VBS?

Yes, of course! We will have volunteers on site ready to take down the necessary information; pre-registration is just a courtesy to help us be most prepared.

What if my child is not in school yet?

If your child is 3 to 5 years old and has not gone to Kindergarten yet, you can mark the “Pre-K” option when you pre-register him or her. Our nursery (for children under 3 years old) is only for children of people who are volunteering at VBS.

Why do you want people to pre-register?

We want to be as prepared as possible so that Good News Roundup can go smoothly both for the children attending, and for the volunteers who are working to make it happen. Having a general idea in advance of who might be coming helps us plan, especially in terms of food preparation and class sizes.

Do I need to bring a printed pre-registration confirmation?

No, we will have a record of your pre-registration; you won’t need to be bring anything with you.

Still have questions? Let's hear them!
